Colours for A Queen
Hi friends,
It is an unusual time here in the UK. As you are undoubtedly aware, Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday after an impressive 70 years on the throne. I didn’t have an emotional response to the news; I didn’t know her (obviously) and I have very mixed feelings about monarchy. It did make me think about my grandparents and the ways in which they passed. I hope the Queen’s passing was swift and peaceful.
It is going to take a bit of getting used to having a king as head of state. A queen is all I’ve ever known, both in Denmark and here. And it’s going to take time to get used to say King Charles and not immediately follow it by Spaniel. ;-)
Speaking of dogs, I hope someone is giving the Queen’s dogs some extra attention and scritches in the coming days. Their pack leader is gone and they won’t know why. Actually, thinking about that does make my eyes mist up a bit…
Anyway, I randomly took this picture the other day and it makes me think of those colour ordered line-ups of the late Queen’s outifts. She definitely wasn’t shy about wearing bold colours!
I hope you have a good weekend.
x Carina
