Hello friends,
I am back from Denmark. A bit tired but also full of wonderful memories. Especially seeing how my niece and nephew embraced Tony, both literally and figuratively. They are eight years old but this was their first time meeting him in person! It’s not easy being an intercontinental family!
A few snapshots from our holiday: I am very much the kind of aunt who will fill her niece and nephew’s bed with balloons. :-D They were a big hit, the kids played with them for days! // Vegan croissants and hot drinks at a café in Århus. // Den Uendelige Bro (The Infinite Bridge), a wonderful artwork by the beach in Århus. They take it down for winter and the day we were there they had just started dismantling it. We made it just in time! :-)
I mentioned this embroidery the other week, there is a pattern for the flower here. It was pretty tough stitching on this cardigan. It made an old RSI thumb pain flare up and in the end I had to ask Tony to finish the flower for me, so I could wear the cardigan for the party we were attending in Denmark. Most of the yellow stitching is by Tony. :-)
In other stitching news:
I finished the Samhain motif in the Wheel of The Year project/stitchalong. I am both excited and sad that they project has come to an end. I think I will do another Wheel of the year inspired project next year. Watch this space. :-)
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
x Carina
Some Things I Enjoyed
Stuffing my face with Danish salty liquorice. Making chicken noises with my nephew. Watching Ghostbusters with my niece (she only got a little bit scared once.) Eating flødeboller. Wandering the streets of Århus, my Danish hometown. Taking in the landscape of my childhood: the woods, the hills, the narrow roads…If only I could bottle it all up and take it home with me…
