Hey friends,
Belated happy winter solstice! It is lovely that the longer days have started returning. Although it doesn’t feel like it… :-)
By the way, if you celebrate the solstices and equinoxes, and the cross quarter days like Imbolc, maybe you would like to do it in embroidery form? The Wheel of The Year pattern does just that and is still available for the original price for the time being (the price will go up in the new year).
I have been working almost non-stop on the temperature quilt etc ebook so I haven’t had time to finish stitching the advent flowers. Hopefully I’ll find some quiet moments over the Christmas break. I also need to catch up on my December stitch sampler. So much stitching, so little time…
Anyway, I have finished the ebook! Although earlier this week I thought I was never going to finish it and it was very much at a “this is terrible” stage. But it is done and I think it has left the ‘terrible’ stage behind! :-D
Here is the cover:
Buy it here: Temperature Quilts, Embroideries And Other Slow Craft Projects.
Save 20% on the ebook until the end of the year with this code: EBOOKTEMPS.
The ebook has a bunch of useful stuff in its 54 pages:
How to work out a temperature scale
Deciding on the size of the project
How to keep track of your information
How to estimate the amount of materials you will need
Interviews with others about their projects
Templates and tracking spreadsheets
If you are contemplating a temperature quilt or other long term project for 2023 then this ebook may just be useful for you. Atleast I hope it will be. :-)
I am already planning another temperature embroidery for next year and I really am itching to do a temperature quilt as well. We’ll see…
Right, now I’ll go clear out my email inbox and then that’s a wrap for work until after Christmas. I hope you have a peaceful time whether or not you’re celebrating anything this time of year. :-)

Christmas Films I Have Enjoyed This Month
Trading Places. We watched this as a pre-December appetizer. Apparently this is a big hit in Italy this time of year.
Klaus. It’s kind of a sad movie but also beautiful and funny. Love the animation style.
Arthur Christmas. I like this film. Except for the present drop at the beginning which supposedly takes place in the Danish city of Aarhus. This happens to be my hometown and let me tell you, it looks nothing like the real Aarhus. I mean nothing at all. And it doesn’t make any sense either to have Santa deliver presents during the night because in Denmark people get their presents on Christmas Eve when they are awake and Santa may even make an appearance in broad evening light (in the shape of a neighbour or uncle or dad dressed as Santa). It doesn’t make sense! Yes, I shout at the tv at this bit every time we watch it! :-D
Scrooged. Probably the second best film version of A Christmas Carol ever made.
Christmas Chronicles. Sure, it’s a bit silly, but it has Kurt Russell as Santa and that’s quite funny!
The Muppet Christmas Carol. The best film version ever made. No discussion. :-)
