Hello!
I think I have had a case of the winter-blahs the past week or so. So cold and dark all the time. Hopefully there will be some sunshine soon to brighten my spirits and my energy. :-)
I’m trying not to be too hard on myself, though. Looking at nature, this time of year is a time to rest; maybe it is ok if humans do that too. As much as we are able to anyway, even if we are not actually hibernating. (But that does sound good, doesn’t it?)
In the Celtic calendar, Imbolc is in just a few days. It is the midpoint between winter solstice and spring equinox and marks the return of more daylight. If you are taking part in the Wheel of The Year stitchalong, you should have received the Imbolc pattern. And if you’d like to join us, you can sign up here for the stitchalong.
I’m really looking forward to stitching this one (sneak peek above). And I think I am going to enjoy having this project this year. Something I have found in doing other year-long projects is that I like having a crafting ‘companion’. Memories of the year become stitched into it. :-)
The Wheel of The Year was kind of a spur of the moment idea but often those are the ones I enjoy the most.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Things I'm enjoying
Reading: The Royal Secret* by Andrew Taylor. The fifth book in the James Marwood & Cat Lovett series, set during the reign of King Charles II.
Listening to: The Achtung Baby album by U2. How is that over 30 years old?!
Following: @hapticandhue on Instagram.
Watching: For All Mankind. It is very good but quite intense at times. In the most recent episode things got VERY INTENSE and I may have to watch the next one from behind a cushion! :-)
Eating: Frittelle di spaghetti. So. Good. Basically it is leftover spaghetti mixed with a batter, various spices/herbs, some grated cheese and fried in some oil. I should have taken some pictures but it was dark (thank you, winter!) and I was hungry so they were gone before I even thought about taking a picture. :-D

I admire your dedication to your year-long projects. It must be nice to have something physical to remind you of the year gone by. Unfortunately I never last when I commit to long term projects but am always in awe of people who can. ...And the sun can't return soon enough for me! :)
