Hejsa!
On Monday, the 100 Day Project ended. I was a bit sad about it. And it’s weird that I don’t have to remember to share the progress. But also happy? I enjoyed the project but at a certain point it did start to feel a bit same-y. That’s probably why I switched to using beads for the last third.
I am really happy with the result. Although the beaded section isn’t completely legible. But I like adding beads, maybe I need to make more projects with an excuse to use beads…
I would like to sell the finished piece and use the money to help people in Gaza. So if you would like it, and you think that £275 is a fair exchange for this one of kind piece that took about 17 hours to make, it can be yours. I will finish it nicely in the hoop or turn it into a wall hanging with a patchwork-y border if you prefer that.
Reply to this email if you want the piece, and support people in Gaza. Shipping is free in the UK but shipping outside is £7.00. (I am not responsible for any customs charges etc.)
I can’t remember if I have shared any of these panels before? I think I have? Maybe?
I made the first ones, the left-most column, about two years ago, to express my frustration and disgust with the Tory government (turns out the Labour gov’t isn’t much better!) Then Israel started the genocide on the people of Gaza and my horror at that also needed to be expressed in some way.
The pile of panels grew and grew and I didn’t know what to do with them. But then it occurred to me that a quilt would be the obvious project. So that’s what I’ve been working on lately. The top is finished (as modelled by my husband) and this weekend I’ll quilt it.
I’m going to send it to the Festival of Quilts and I need to enter it online on Wednesday, so I really need to get a wiggle on to finish it!
I’ve never sent a quilt to FoQ before and I am a little bit nervous about what the reaction will be. It is not a juried quilt show, so in theory they should accept it and hang it. But you never know, it may be seen as a bit too controversial. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I guess we’ll see what happens…
Have a lovely weekend!

P.S. The June playlist. Enjoy! :-)
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: The Little Book of Humanism: Universal lessons on finding purpose, meaning and joy* by Alice Roberts and Andrew Copson.
Another book: Between Two Rivers: Ancient Mesopotamia And The Birth of History* by Moudhy Al-Rashid.
Watching: The Chelsea Detective is back. :-)
Music: Strawberry Blonde by Molly Sandén. Well, it’s an album preview so far, but I like. It has a nice summery vibe. It’s in Swedish but I think you can still enjoyit if you don’t understand Swedish? :-)
More music, in English: Everybody Needs A Hero (Extended Version) by Orla Gartland.

Some Interesting Things on The Internet - AI Sucks Edition
Diabolus Ex Machina. AI lies. What a surprise.
Slop Farmer Boasts About How He Uses AI to Flood Social Media With Garbage to Trick Older Women. People like that are gross. And AI is gross. Just don’t use it.
Repeat After Me: AI Doesn’t Know Anything. The language in that post is NSFW, just FYI.
Something not AI related: Patrick Stewart exists in the Star Trek universe. 🤯
Also not AI: Kandy G. Lopez Embroiders Striking, Life-Size Yarn Portraits Highlighting BIPOC Narratives. These works are amazing.
These panels work so well as a quilt. Good luck with finishing it and sending it to the exhibition.
