Hejsa!
I finished the Autumn Equinox motif in the current Wheel of the Year project. And I’m itching to get started on the next motif. It is so exciting to see it take shape in real life. A bit like old skool photography when you’d take a picture and you’d have an idea of what it would look like but then you’d have to go into the darkroom and develop the photo and in the dim red light you’d wait for the picture to appear. It’s a bit like that. Only the development takes almost a whole year! :-D
Speaking of things that take almost a year…
This is my finished 2022 Wheel of The Year embroidery. And it is finally available as a pattern. It has only taken, well, almost a year since I finished the last motif, to make this pattern. Partly because I couldn’t decide if I was going to add an, optional, central motif.
Then I had that trouble with my thumb and possibly stitching that central motif got pushed waaay down the to-do list. In the end I decided that I actually quite like the pattern as it is, just the eight motifs. And once I mentally let go of that central motif, I could finish the pattern. :-)
You can buy the 2022 Wheel of The Year Pattern here. It includes that optional central motif! And a larger version of the central motif that can be used as a standalone pattern. It is a BIG pattern! Two files with a combined 28 pages! :-)
Since I have added the full 2022 pattern, I have now technically removed the 2022 stitchalong version from my shop. The pattern/stitchalong versions are essentially the same but the stitchalong version does include larger versions of all the eight motifs which are not available in the pattern version. So, if you would like the pattern WITH those larger versions which can be stitched on their own, the 2022 stitchalong version will is available here until October 31st.
If you don’t feel like you can commit to a large pattern (it’s almost 12” in diameter!) I have made that central motif available as a standalone pattern. You can still celebrate the Wheel but it won’t take as long to stitch! :-)
I have called the central motif Eight Seasons and you can check it out here. I’ll put a picture below so you can see it.
Phew. That’s a lot of pattern talk. But a girl’s gotta make a living. :-)
I hope you have a great weekend!

Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: Emperor of Rome: Ruling the Ancient Roman World by Professor Mary Beard. Because I do actually think about the Roman Empire fairly regularly. :-D And Prof Beard is excellent!
Watching: Ahsoka, the new Star Wars series. Enjoying that quite a lot. :-)
Music: The Opland album by Rikke Thomsen, a Danish singer-songwriter who uses the dialect from an area of Denmark called Sønderjylland.
Beautiful
I'm in awe of your stitching skills Carina! Your motifs are magical. I share your excitement seeing the progression of projects. :)
