Hi friends,
I was hoping that today I would be able to share more details about the ABC Sampler class I am working on. But….I can’t. Not really. Various Stuff (all of it good) is happening in life at the moment and I’ve got to a point of overwhelm or stress so I have to pause the work on the class for a little while. I’m hoping for a start date in early November. Maybe sooner if things work out. I’m sad that I have to postpone it a bit but it’s better to do that than get Super Stressed about launching it on a certain date.
I wrote the above on Tuesday when I was about to prep this week’s newsletter but then I all of a sudden properly realised how I was feeling. And I wasn’t feeling great. Tired; I’ve had trouble sleeping lately. A couple of times I caught myself holding my breath (that’s weird and not good!) and just all round...feeling exhausted.
So I turned off my computer. Put away my to-do list. And I have spent most of the week doing as little as possible. I sat on the sofa with some repetitive stitching. That’s it. That is a real change of pace for me. I’m always doing something. Always multi-tasking. But I just had to stop that. And stop thinking ahead or making to-do lists in my head. Sometimes literally saying to myself out loud “stop it!”
Last night I finally had a good night’s sleep. Or at least much better than I’ve had recently. Still, once I have shared a few links with you I’m going to turn off my computer and go sit on the sofa again. More down time is needed. I really don’t want to feel like I have been this week. And I certainly don’t want it to get worse.
I thought you might like the same kind of repetitive stitching I have been doing, so I have put together a few motifs in a wee pattern with some tutorials as well. You can check it out here: Botanical Repeats.
Last week I heard that the late Queen’s bees had been informed of her passing and I thought that was such an interesting idea/image that I made it into a pattern. You can download the free pattern here: Tell It To The Bees.
It is not just a quirky custom in the British Royal Family, it is a thing out there in the wider world. I like the idea of telling the creatures, with whom you share a habitat, about the things that are happening in your family.
Next week is the Autumn Equinox and you can still join our Wheel of The Year Stitchalong here. This has been such a joyful project to work on and there may be something in a similar vein for next year. :-)
I hope you have a nice, relaxing (!) weekend.
xx Carina
Keep safe, one day at a time. K
