Hejsa!
In two months Iβm going to Denmark. I canβt wait! Iβm looking forward to seeing my friends and my parents.
And Iβll be teaching a class while Iβm there. This is my first time teaching a class in Danish so Iβll have to look up a few embroidery related words that I only know in English. I was going to say βcome along if you live near Aarhusβ but the class actually sold out in about two hours. I was not expecting that! Do the people know my work already? I have no idea! :-D
Speaking of teaching. I have decided to turn my planned Alphabet sampler class into a series of YouTube videos instead. Iβve been meaning to do some video stitch tutorials to share on YouTube and a lot of the stitches are the same as in the sampler and it seems a bit silly to do the same work twice! Look at me being all lazy efficient! ;-)
So, you can watch the tutorials on YouTube and make up your own pattern OR you can watch the tutorials and buy the Alphabet Stitch Sampler pattern. With the pattern you also get access to a video with tips for how to choose colours for your sampler. The pattern includes two versions of the alphabet: horizontal (as in my stitched version) and a vertical version.
There are 31 stitches in the pattern. I put the first stitch tutorial on YouTube yesterday and the rest will be released two at a time each week for the next 15 weeks. So you can use the tutorials as a self paced stitchalong if you like. Iβm going to be working on a second version of the sampler (finishing the one I use in the videos). It may take me 15 weeks to finish since I still canβt stitch at the mad furious pace I would like to! :-)
I love stitch samplersβ¦ β₯
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: The Sewing Machine* by Natalie Fergie. I love this book. I have read/listened to it several times. It has become a bit of a βtraditionβ to listen to it in the summer. Highly recommend it!
Book: The Ward Witch by Sarah Painter. Well, technically I havenβt started reading this book (yet) but I very much enjoy her Crow Investigations series so I am looking forward to reading this first book in a new series. If you like the urban fantasy genre you might like it too.
Music: Joakim Berg on Spotify.
Food: M&S Salt & Black Pepper Combo Mix. Slightly obsessed.
Podcast: History of The Germans. Considering that I grew up in Denmark, which shares a border (and a troubled past, to say the least!) with Germany, I know very little of its history. I wasnβt actively looking for a podcast on this subject but it is quite interesting. And the host has an excellent sense of humour. Can recommend it!

That's brilliant news about your Danish embroidery teaching! Hope you and your students have a great time :)
