Hey friends,
It is almost the Spring Equinox and I am really looking forward to it. For some reason, the past couple of months have felt really dark and cold and like spring was really dragging its feet. But now it’s almost here! The days are already getting longer and it’s almost completely daylight even when Blake (the dog) wakes us up at 6AM and wants to be let in the garden. :-)
This is my finished Imbolc embroidery in the Wheel of The Year project. Oh boy, that was a lot of French knots. But worth it, I think. I do love the texture of French knots…
We start the next motif in the Wheel stitchalong in a couple of days. I’m really looking forward to marking this next point in the Wheel, and to celebrate the start of spring. :-)
If you would like to stitch your own seasonal embroidery, join the Wheel of The Year stitchalong here. No need to be pagan or anything like that! It’s a low key celebration in stitches of the turning of the seasons. You can put as much or as little symbolism into it as you like. :-)
Next week I’ll share the start of the Spring Equinox embroidery.
I took this picture by accident, in the portrait mode on my phone which blurred the background. I quite like the result of me pressing the wrong button… :-)
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Something I Am Enjoying
Book: Estuary: Out from London to the Sea* by Rachel Lichtenstein. “Out at the eastern edge of England, between land and ocean, you will find beautiful, haunted salt marshes, coastal shallows and wide-open skies: the Thames Estuary. “ We used to live right by the Thames river, but now we live a few miles away. It is fascinating to read about the Estuary. I don’t know much about it, apart from seeing it when we visit Southend-on-Sea…
