Since I did my 100 Day Stitch Sampler, I have wanted to make some patterns that use some of my freshly learned stitches. This pattern is the first one with fancy stitches! Well, they aren’t that fancy, they’re just…new to me. And to you too, maybe? The working name for the pattern was ‘fancy flowers’. :-)
Blooms Burst is the name I came up with. It feels like those flowers are just bursting from their vase. :-)
The ‘new’ stitches I am using in the pattern are: rose leaf stitch, crow’s foot stitch, whipped wheel, spider web rose and Russian chain stitch. Included with the pattern is a PDF with tutorials for all those stitches plus the lazy daisy filling stitch I used in the orange buds.
Buy Blooms Burst in my Payhip shop. Until Sunday (July 24th) you can save 20% off the pattern with the code FANCYBLOOMS. (And maybe, juuust maybe that code works for all the single patterns.) ;-)
You can also buy Blooms Burst in my Etsy shop but there is no discount there because Etsy takes a crazy amount of each sale in fees. :-/
Just look at those rose leaf stitches! I love that stitch. So plump and juicy. :-D
In the pattern I have also included 8 small motifs that are based on the main pattern. They can of course be used with the main pattern, or on their own. Maybe use them to decorate a t-shirt or make a brooch or something. :-)
Another wee thing in my shop. I keep getting asked for the list of DMC colours I use in my temperature embroidery so I put the list in a handy PDF, available in my Payhip shop.
Speaking of temperatures, blimey, the start of this week was brutal here in England. On Tuesday we hit 40°C! This is not normal! Thankfully it has cooled down a bit now.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Things I Am Enjoying
Reading: This Long Thread: Women of Color on Craft, Community, and Connection* by Jen Hewett. Beautiful, thought provoking book. Highly recommended.
Music: The Jag fortsätter glömma album by Joakim Berg.
Watching: Quentin Blake – The Drawing of My Life on BBC iPlayer.
Eating: I made a big batch of pasta salad on Monday morning so I’d have something easy to eat (i.e. no need to cook) during the heatwave. And eating something COOL was a big plus too!
