Hejsa!
Last Friday it was Blake’s birthday. He is 14 years old! Although I don’t think he enjoyed what the day had in store for him: an all day stay at the vet’s so they could clean his teeth. And have another two removed. Let that be a lesson to you: if you won’t let your humans clean your teeth, you may have to face unpleasant consequences!
Belated happy Spring Equinox!
I actually finished the Ostara /spring equinox panel for my Wheel of The Year project in time. I really like how it has turned out. I could have used a different flower to mark this season but daffodils are such cheerful flowers, they are just the right plant to celebrate the start of spring. :-)
I went to Canterbury Cathedral with my parents on their recent visit and it made me chuckle that there were dinosaur Christmas ornaments for sale in the cathedral shop.
Have a lovely weekend!

Some Interesting Things on The Internet
Ted Lasso is coming back!! *Kermit flail*
Recipe: Chana Pulao (Chickpeas and Rice Pilau). This was very nice, although I didn’t have the type of rice used in the recipe, nor any whole cardamom pods or cinnamon sticks, so I had to improvise it a bit.
Recipe: Aloo Matar. (Potato and peas curry). Again, didn’t have exactly all the ingredients but it turned out very taste anyway. I used garlic granules, instead of garlic paste, and I wish that I had added more. I very rarely regret putting too much garlic in anything.. 😄
Pompeian pigments. A glimpse into ancient Roman colouring materials. Oh hi, I am a bit of a nerd and I find this stuff fascinating. 😁
Quick Primer on Publishing Terms. If publishing a book is something you would like to do, I recommend reading Kate’s excellent newsletter about publishing/being a writer. She also has a book coming out later this year.
A niche project perhaps: Doctor Who scarf knitting instructions. You can tell that I have been living in the UK for a long time (almost 20 years!!) because I recognise the cultural significance? importance? of this scarf. 😆
From Snowdrop to Nightjar: Robert Marsham’s “Indications of Spring” (1789).
This is sickening, but important to keep track of: Project 2*25 tracker. 🤢
I have just joined Substack and have to say that your blog-sorry, I don’t know what to call it yet!-it’s SO interesting. I will tell friends about it. What is so enjoyable is the eclectic range of subjects in your recommendations. It’s like a digital commonplace notebook.
How else would I have found out that’Spring moves northwards at roughly 2mph’?! I love that thought.
Thankyou for taking time to share your interests and insights.
