Hejsa!
I was going to write last week, about my trip to Copenhagen, buuuut I came home from Copenhagen with a nasty cold (only just now feeling human again!) so I spent most of the past week and a bit in bed, watching YouTube videos. Very much not how I imagined I’d spend a good chunk of January. But at least that means that my thumb has had a bit of a break which is a good thing.
And I have had a bit of a break. Even when I have time off I’m always doing something…like I have to be productive all the time? So it’s good to be doing (almost) nothing for a little while.
Basically the only stitching I have done since I came home is add a section to this daily embroidery and make a handful of hexagons for my quilt. I am making a daily stitch textile book over the course of the year. I’m not sure if every month will just be running stitch. Maybe I’ll pick something slightly more complicated. Or maybe not.
Which stitches I’m using in this project isn’t really important. And it’s not important if it looks a certain way or is all neat and tidy. Texture is more important I think. And the texture of the January page is certainly yummy with with the running stitch through the quilt wadding. :-)
It was quite cold in Denmark. Not too bad on the day of the proclamation (good thing because we stood and waited for about 4.5 hours in total) but the next day it was really cold. Started with snow and with the wind-chill it was -10°C. We definitely needed all the layers!
I put together a short video of my trip. A few glimpses of Copenhagen (including a yarn shop!) and some proclamation stuff. My mum came over to Copenhagen too so we had a nice weekend together.
And now I am feeling a bit homesick and I have had many thoughts about why on earth I felt a need to be in Denmark for the occasion of the change of monarch. Maybe some day I’ll try writing about that… :-)
I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Something I Am Enjoying
Music: I love how one thing can lead to another and then you find a new favourite. For example: someone on Instagram posted a story with an Italian song that I sort of recognised. So I went looking for the song and I found the Italian song. Which I don’t think I’ve ever heard before. But then I realised that the reason it sounded familiar to me is because there was a Danish version of it back in the 80s. Anyway, I played the Italian song on Spotify and then afterwards Spotify thought I might like to listen to a French singer called Indila. And Spotify was right because I’ve been listening to Indila all morning. :-)
