Hello friends,
I am in the mood for darning. I don’t know if it is because we’re in September now and the weather really does feel quite autumnal and I just want to be inside with some kind of stitching. And it’s not just because I’m teaching a darning workshop soon!
Atleast it means I am almost through darning a whole bunch of Tony’s socks!
It helps that I’ve got a new ‘gadget’ that helps with one method of darning.
This is a darning loom (sometimes referred to as a Speed Weve). It makes it quicker to do this particular darning method. Although it doesn’t speed up the finishing, i.e. tying off a gazillion ends. Ugh.
Using a darning loom wasn’t originally part of the darning workshop (on September 12th) but I have decided to include it. It is a really handy tool. I look forward to experimenting more with it and creating fun patterns in the woven darning.
I hope Tony likes the funky darn on his sock! :-D
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
x Carina

Some Things I Enjoyed This Week
One of my IG pals used a German song in an Instagram reel and I really liked it so I had to go check it out and now I have been listening to the whole album this past week. The song is Vincent by Sarah Connor. Here’s to Ohrwurms! :-)
I ordered some Danish goodies from Scandi Kitchen and the other morning I had toast with pålægschokolade that was just slightly melting from the heat of the bread. Perfect breakfast for a Dane.
I have just started reading The White Ship: Conquest, Anarchy and the Wrecking of Henry I's Dream* by Charles Spencer. I hope I can get some time to properly read this weekend. Here’s a bit from the book’s blurb: “The sinking of the White Ship in 1120 is one of the greatest disasters England has ever suffered. In one catastrophic night, the king's heir and the flower of Anglo-Norman society were drowned and the future of the crown was thrown violently off course.“
