Hey friends,
It’s December! We put up our decorations on Sunday. It’s nice to have this seasonal marker but in the past few years I have done a bit of decluttering of our Christmas decorations. It feels too busy with lots of decorations. And less decorations also means less time putting up/taking down of the decorations. I like Christmas decorations but I don’t like spending most of a day putting them up and the same when it’s time to put them away. :-)
I mean, that time could be better spent embroidering, right? Like the first advent flower pattern I shared last week. And now it is time for the second one. Download the second flower pattern here.
Here is my stitching WiP of the first advent pattern:
I was going to use the colours I have suggested in the pattern, but then I was picking colours for something else and this variegated pink colour caught my eye. I haven’t decided if I will use just this colour or add another one…
Anyway, it is a good reminder that the colours in a pattern aren’t set in stone. Just because the pattern designer has chosen certain colours, that doesn’t mean you have to use those colours. You can use any colours you like. And you don’t even have to ask for permission! :-)
Another December project, because apparently I don’t have enough projects:
An advent stitch sampler. The layout is inspired by Passacaglia English paper piecing patterns. I wish I had the patience for one of those but I’ll have to make do with this wee stitchy version instead. :-D
I do not have any plans for the stitches I am going to use. I think it will very much be a case of “how much time do I have today and which stitches can I add to this section in that amount of time?!”
I hope you have an excellent weekend.
x Carina
