Hey friends,
Happy Saturday. Yes, you usually hear from me on Fridays but I spent most of yesterday in bed with migraine. Ugh, not fun at all. I did do a little bit of embroidery but other than that, nothing got done. Which is a bit annoying, looking at my to-do list! But sometimes that canβt be helped. If the body requires rest then Iβll have to not resist it. No matter how βinconvenientβ that is. I feel like that is a lesson I have to be reminded of again and again. :-)
Atleast Blake kept me company for some of the day.
Last week I finally finished the December Sampler. Considering that I was supposed to add to each day in December, and theoretically finish it on December 31stβ¦thatβs pretty good going? :-D
I love how it turned out. I think it would be fun to make several of these and maybe stitch them together. Just like the Passacaglia patchwork quilts that was the inspiration for the sampler design. Maybe Iβll have it as an in the background projectβ¦ maybeβ¦ The colours here also just make me happy. :-)
You can buy the pattern here if you want to make your own sampler: Passacaglia Inspired Embroidery Sampler. It includes four sizes of the template along with the colours and stitches I have used but obviously you can use whichever stitches and/colours you like.
I hope you have an excellent weekend. x
Carina
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Music: FΓΌr die Liebe album by Berge. I donβt know why but I just really like listening to German singer-song writers. Maybe itβs because itβs similar enough to Danish to make me feelβ¦at home? But different enough that I can tune out the words if I need to concentrate..
Book: Rice's Church Primer* by Matthew Rice. I am interested in architecture and I would like to know more about the different elements of church architecture in particular, but to be honest, a big draw (pun not intended) with this book is the drawings in it.

The second motif in the Pattern Lab dropped on Tuesday:
Your work is so inspiring and my heart goes out to you re: migraines. Quite familiar with them and agree rest is essential and usually one has little choice. Hoping you are feeling better and on to doing all you do best.
