Hejsa!
Lately it has been proper summer (sunny, warm but not too hot, perfect) but then yesterday that completely changed and it felt more like autumn. Cloudy, windy and rainy. In the small wood, I can see from our house, the oak trees have taken on a copper tone…but surely it’s too early for autumn?
I can’t remember if I have shared any of the appliqué pieces that I call my ‘rage stitching’ pieces? They are reactions to various things that make me feel enraged or despondent about the state of the world. Here are the two most recent ones.
The one on the left is a response to the recent right wing rioting here in the UK. Both the media and politicians apparently didn’t want to call it what it really was/is.
On the right…well, it’s been over 300 days of children (and women and men) being murdered in Gaza. It is profoundly depressing. Every day, we woke up to another attack by Israel and every day it seems more vicious than the previous day. It is heart breaking.
I have accumulated quite the pile of these rage stitching pieces. I can’t remember how many I have by now. I’m not sure what to do with them. I kinda feel like turning them into a quilt and sending it to the Festival of Quilts next year. But I don’t know if it is too provocative. Maybe they would refuse it…
Are you a fabric connoisseur? I have these two scraps but I don’t know where I got them. Whenever I come across them in my stash, I keep thinking I would like some more of them. But I have no idea who the designer is. I think it may be Kaffe Fassett (collective) but I’m not sure. Any idea what the fabrics are? They are probably several years old so it may not even be possible to find more, but it would be nice to at least figure out what the fabrics are…
Have a lovely weekend!

P.S. My slow stitching project is slowly nearing the end, you can watch the latest video here.
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: The Colour of Magic* by Terry Pratchett. Yeah, I am very behind. This is only the second Discworld book I’ve read! The first one I read was Equal Rites. Which one should I read next?
Watching: The Whitstable Pearl series is back!
Music: Music from 1994! On a Danish radio channel they are going through a bunch of albums from 1994 and it’s interesting to listen to. Obviously, there is chat in Danish but the music is all in English: Årgang 94.
