I’m in a sort of limbo that is both excited and stressful. Nest week the husband and I are going to Copenhagen for a long weekend. Our first holiday in over four years! Exciting! We’re going to see the Grand Depart of the Tour de France bike race. Which I’ve watched every summer for the past 30 years. I never imagined that it would ever start in Denmark! So I’m excited! And I’ll spend time with one of my dearest friends which is also very exciting!
My parents are coming over to look after Blake (our dog) while we are away. I’m excited to see them! But I’m also getting a bit stressed because of all the things to get sorted before they arrive and our departure a couple of days later. Having house guests just requires a different level of cleaning, right? Not that they care if there is a bit of dust or a spider’s web in a ceiling corner. But I guess I do. :-D
Thank goodness for lists. I am an inveterate list maker. I like making lists because then I don’t have to rely on my own brain to remember every single little thing that is Very Important (it probably isn’t!) A couple of months ago I made a list of the lists I was going to make. Yes. A list of lists. Am I the only one?!
So I haven’t had much making time. Apart from finishing the Summer Solstice embroidery. And I have made myself a new sketching bag.
It is quite cute, isn’t it? It is the Blazingstar pattern from Sew Sweetness. It is just the right size for short sketching adventures. :-)
On my to-do list for the weekend is ‘write and schedule newsletter’. But maybe I should just cross it out and take a break and not worry about it? So you may or may not hear from me next week. :-)
I hope you have an excellent weekend!
x Carina
