Hejsa!
Autumn has properly arrived, it is grey and cloudy as I’m writing this. Cardigans have been in use! And Blake and I got properly soaked on our walk the other day. Neither of use enjoyed that. :-D
I don’t know if this is some kind of autumn tidying but I’ve been taking a good look at my old patterns and I have decided that some of them will be retired in some form or another. I need to streamline my shop a bit. So, some of the patterns will be available as part of pattern bundles, some will go away for good and some will be added to the pattern library in my Patreon (still working on setting that up.)
The patterns that will be retired are still available. For now.
I have put them all in a category called Memory Chest in my shop and they are 30% off with the code SWEETMEMORIES.
Not sure how long they will stay available. I guess until I figure out exactly what I’m doing with each one. So if you want any of them, do make sure you grab a copy soon.
It’s a bit weird to sorta-kinda say goodbye to those patterns. But sometimes you have to make room for new things. Even if you don’t know what they are yet…
The past few months I have been making these protest… mini quilts (although they are not finished, no backing or binding. I don’t know what I am going to do with them but I have been thinking I might do a bunch more (goodness knows there is enough to protest about!) and put them together to make full quilt and send it to Festival of Quilts next year. We’ll see… What message would you put on a protest quilt?
Have a lovely weekend!

Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: The Children of Ash and Elm: A History of the Vikings by Neil Price. It is interesting, but because I’m listening to the audiobook version I spend a not inconsiderable amount of time getting annoyed with the narrator’s lack of ability to pronounce Scandinavian people and place names. Fair enough that a British person would be unfamiliar with how to pronounce the Scandi letters like æ, ö and å but maybe then the production company would maybe make sure they got some help? And it would be less grating if the narrator was consistent in getting the names/sounds wrong but they are not. :-/
Watching: Ghosts are back on BBC! One of the best series in recent years!
Music: Listening to RYM. A singer from Morocco. Lovely music.
New video on YouTube: In My Hoop #02. Sneak peek at new pattern, quilt projects and temperature embroidery catch-up.
Retiring some of your patterns like you say, gives you space for new creations. They are so lovely, I imagine it will be hard to say farewell.
