Hejsa!
This was my breakfast on Wednesday.
Lussekatter, Swedish saffron buns. They are so nice. I have them every year on December 13th, St Lucia's day. I have a recipe for lussekatter on my blog if you want to try them.
I've been working on a couple of videos for my YouTube and thinking about comments I have had on some of my videos.
Before I started making videos, I thought that maybe it wasn't a medium for me. I am a quiet, introverted, softly spoken person and it seems like there is a lot of YT videos that are the exact opposite to that. And a lot of videos also seem to be made by 20 something year olds which is also not me. Is there a place on YT for a softly spoken middle aged lady who shares her embroidery and sewing? Turns out that there is.
And the thing I was worried about, my voice being too quiet (I turn up the volume on the videos, hehe!), is the thing that several people have commented on saying that they really like. They find it calming. And you know what, calming is not a bad thing to be. :-)
Sometimes, what we think is a weakness, is actually a strength, I guess.
I don't know what I'll make of YouTube, for now I am enjoying making the videos and learning how to make them better. And it has been a weird, unexpected quiet confidence boost. There are actually people out there who want to listen to someone like me... More than 1000, in fact! Which feels a bit crazy. I know, there are people who have hundreds of thousands (millions, even!) of subscribers but 1000 feels pretty big to me...
So here's to trying things that maybe seem a bit scary and also you have no idea how to do them! :-)
My Alphabet Stitch Sampler is on sale at the moment (no code necessary). It's the perfect thing to work on in January if you want to learn some new embroidery stitches. It has 31 stitches so you could try a new one each day! I have shared tutorials for all the stitches on YouTube. Well, almost, the very last one will be available on Tuesday. :-)
I loved making this sampler and I hope you will too.
Another sneak peek at the 2024 Wheel of The Year project. I am really enjoying this! I'll share more about it in the new year.
Have a lovely weekend!

Blake sez he’ll be in a YouTube video next week and you should subscribe so you don’t miss it! :-D
I find your voice very easy to listen to on your videos. There's definitely a place for calm, softly spoken middle aged women on Youtube! So good to hear your confidence has been boosted by the kind words of praise of your followers.
