Hey friends,
Last week my weekend plans was to watch the Tour de France Femme and stitch one of the motifs in the Sunflower collection (free or pay what you want). I did both things! And it was very relaxing. :-)
I don’t usually love stitching repetitive patterns but something about that sunflower repeat just really spoke to me. And I did enjoy stitching it. Once I had decided on the stitches and colours I could just switch off and relax into the rhythm of the embroidery.
Of course I had to add a bit of pink to the embroidery. Pink makes everything better. :-D
Something else I have been working on this week. A new stitch sampler. I love stitch samplers. I’d been wanting to make another one and a little while ago, while listening to a podcast about the history of English, it occurred to me that an alphabet stitch sampler was the project I’d been needing. :-)
Here are some previous samplers: 100 Day Stitch Sampler and the 1 Inch Dot Sampler. In the past I had…kind of negative feelings about samplers, they seemed kinda boring and restrictive to me but it turns out they can be fun and creative. Have you ever stitched a sampler?
I hope you have a lovely weekend. :-)
x Carina
