Hello friends,
That’s almost it for 2022. Wasn’t 2021 just yesterday?
I’m going to spend tomorrow finishing this 2023 pattern I drew up. Stitching good wishes for the coming year. It was fun to draw these numbers, I think it’d be fun to do the rest of the numbers and maybe letters to match. Because obviously I don’t have enough projects already… :-D
Anyway, if you would like to stitch your own good wishes for 2023, the pattern is available here. I included two versions, horizontal and ‘square’. You can stitch it any way you like. I am really enjoying adding the stitches and colours at random. :-)
The two different versions. Which is your favourite version? :-)
If I have time, tomorrow I’ll also be working on my December sampler.
The shapes in the sampler are a bit of challenge to fit the stitches into. Especially stitches like battlement filling and bottensöm. But I’m enjoying the challenge! Now I just need to decide which stitches to use in the last few shapes…
I hope you have a happy new year and that 2023 will treat us all with kindness.
x Carina
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Book: Deeper Than Indigo* by Jenny Balfour-Paul. This book sounded interesting but at first it felt a bit slow. Then I got into it and now I can barely put it down. Can very much recommend it.
Another book: Life Is Better When You Draw (It) by Koosje Koene. If you want to get into sketching this is a really inspiring book. It is not a how-to book, it won’t tell you how to draw. But it will tell you why sketching is such a lovely thing. It is full of Koosje’s wonderful sketchbook pages. One of my favourite Christmas presents. :-)
Music: Evermore by Taylor Swift.
Food: Lemon fries. Approximate recipe for two people: Mix juice of one lemon, 1-2 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp garlic granules, salt & pepper in a bowl. Peel and cut 5-6 potatoes into fries. Coat the fries with the lemon & oil mix, spread on an oven tray with greaf proof paper and bake for about 30 minutes at 200°C.
I had the lemon fries with grated raw carrots mixed w a bit of lemon juice. It was a nice, fresh dinner after all the Christmas food! :-)

These patterns are lovely Carina! I have just made my first purchase from your shop and I cannot wait to dig into some slow stitching in the evenings. Wishing you a very Happy new Year!
