Hejsa!
Do you use Spotify? Whenever you like a song there it is automagically added to a playlist called ‘Liked songs’ (I would assume other music streaming sites have a similar feature) and it is quite interesting to listen to that! My ‘Liked songs’ list is very eclectic! :-)
Swedish pop, ocean sounds, Palestinian singer song-writers, French pop, Danish rock from the 90s, Italian pop from the 90s (any fellow Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini fans?!), the Amelie soundtrack, the Beatles, ABBA, indie pop/rock, REM, Taylor Swift, quiet piano music, more Swedish pop…etc and so on.
Tell me about the random stuff in your music favourites! :-)
I was thinking the other day about how much music means to me. Not in a seriously-studying-it sort of way. But always listening to music, singing along, dancing (badly) when no one is looking. Music is magical…it continually astounds me that people can make music, seemingly out of thin air… how does it work? Do you make music? Do you hear it in your head or do you just start playing with the instrument and then stuff happens?
Is it a different creative process from, say, making a painting or a quilt?
My creative process this week has been working on my 100 day project, which I am really enjoying. Fabric collages using up little scraps.
It is very freeing. It may seem like it would be limiting, to only allow myself to use the scraps and not just pick the fabrics I think would work best. But with this limitation I have to think creatively about how I use the scraps. It is actually more about what can the scraps become, rather than what do I want to make.
I tip some scraps out on the table and pick a few at random and then I try to turn them into something. The freeing part is that since I have very little control, I don’t sit down with a particular idea about what I want to make before I’m sitting there looking at the scraps. And if you have no preconceived idea…you can’t let that idea down and you can’t fail. I may not love every single one of the 100 collages but simply by existing they are a success. I have 100% freedom to make ugly stuff. :-)
Have a lovely weekend!

P.S. I shared a video tutorial about making fabric baskets.
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Watching: A video of someone doing a multi day walk following the coastal path around Bornholm, a Danish island. We are actually going to Bornholm with my family this summer. Coming across this video just made me more excited about our trip. Although we won’t be doing any hiking like in the video. Still, it gave me a few more ideas of places we might visit. :-)
Music: Billianne. Spotify suggestion which I really like.
Food: Soup with homemade focaccia on a rainy day. :-)
