Hejsa*!
How are you? :-)
I have had sort of a week off because Tony had a week off from work and I/we have been on a couple of adventures. That’s what you do when you have time off, right? It’s been a staycation of sorts. Thankfully we have had mostly nice weather.
(*Hi in Danish.)
On Tuesday I went into London to do some sketching. Remember my project where I sketched a bunch of the Christopher Wren churches in the City? I sketched a handful of those again. It was fun to see my old ‘friends’ again! :-)
On Wednesday Tony and I went to Southend-on-Sea, where the Thames meets the North Sea. It was a warm day, but very cloudy so it didn’t have quite the ‘day at the beach’ feel that we had hoped for. Nonetheless, we had ice cream and I did a quick sketch of the famous pier and it was a good day.
Today is the last day in my daily mini quilt project. The month seems to have gone by so fast! It has been a fun project, I have really enjoyed it. Doing something creative daily is really great. Whether it’s just a few minutes or a couple of hours. It’s time well spent.
Here is the last of the quilts:
I really like it. I didn’t know this is where the journey was going to end, but I love it. I have learnt a lot from this project. :-)
I have decided that I am going to sell the mini quilts. Because I really don’t need 30 mini quilts! So if you would like a little piece of this project, have a look at the quilts here.
And if you would like to listen to me waffle on about the quilts, I made a wee video about them too. Because apparently now I am a YouTuber! :-D
I am really proud of myself for completing this project. I wasn’t 100% sure that I would. Maybe I’d get bored with the quilts? Run out of ideas? Get annoyed with the endless joining of binding? Well, I didn’t get bored, nowhere ran out of ideas and I got a lot better at the joining of the binding so that’s a bonus! :-)
Have a lovely weekend!
x Carina
Some Things I Am Enjoying
Food: Rossi’s ice cream in Southend!
Music: The Hannet Lekloub album by Ÿuma. I only understand a handful of words but that doesn’t make it any less beautiful. :-)
Exhibition: Andy Warhol: The Textiles at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. It was an interesting exhibition. I’ve been interested in Warhol’s work for many years so it was interesting to see this little known aspect of his early work. It is a small exhibition so unless you are a big fan it may not be worth a long trek to see it. But if you happen to be in the neighbourhood (Bermondsey), do check it out.
