Hejsa!
Yesterday was a dark and rainy day and all of a sudden I felt an urge to do some Christmas-y activities. But that is too early! :-D
Instead, here’s an autumnal Blake:
He’s so cute. Poor thing has to have his teeth cleaned next week. Luckily, he doesn’t know about that. He really needs to have his teeth cleaned because he won’t let us clean them and he couldn’t care less about those chews that are supposed to help keep the teeth clean. I must admit that I hate the thought of him being under full anaesthesia, but it can’t be helped... :-/
I am sorry if the title of last week’s missive was a bit confusing and maybe you thought that I had unfollowed your or unsubscribed you or something. It was absolutely not my intention to confuse anyone!
I actually embroidered the email from that person to remind myself never to become a person who tries to police what people can say in their own online space. People are absolutely allowed to agree with me, and more than welcome to unfollow me because of it but what is the point of telling me that you are unfollowing? It’s just bizarre.
I posted the picture on Instagram and a bunch of new people followed me because of it, so her not caring about people’s political views (or maybe it was just that particular view?!) meant that I got to connect with more people who do care. So… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway. I’ll not spend more energy on her email. But, just for good measure: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and that is not cool. To put it mildly. Free Palestine.
In other news: I finished the Samhain motif in the Wheel of The Year embroidery.
To be honest, I was a little…uneasy about this one because I knew I wanted to stitch it with mostly purple colours and purple is one of my least favourites colours and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull off the colour combination in a way I would be happy with. But I bloody love it! :-)
And it works so well with the other motifs/colours. I’m so happy with it! :-)
In case you don’t know what this embroidery is: it is based on the Celtic Wheel of The Year way of dividing the year into eight seasons/festivals. This is the second year I have been doing a stitchalong following the Wheel and it just makes me very happy. There is one season left, Yule/Winter Solstice, and then the Wheel will be turned into an embroidery pattern.
While the stitchalong is still running, you can sign up and get access to a few extras as well as the main pattern. There is a video with each season’s motif where I show how to do various stitches and how to apply them to the motif.
I am a little wistful that the project will soon be finished. But first there is the Yule motif to stitch and I am also in the process of planning next year’s project. Which I am excited about, it will be very different from this year’s Wheel. :-)
Right, time to go tidy my wee studio and then it’s on with the last task on my list and then I’ll clock off for the weekend. :-)
I hope you have a good weekend!
