Yesterday I spent the day in London, walking around and sketching. I spent an hour or so in the British Museum. I have been there lots of times before, but yesterday, when I walked into the Great Court I actually had tears in my eyes. I guess because for so long it’s not been possible to visit a museum, or I didn’t feel comfortable doing so. And then to walk into that impressive space and I was Just. So. Happy to be there.
I still don’t feel comfortable going to loads of places indoors, but because the BM is still using a limited entries at a time policy, I felt safer about going there, knowing that it wouldn’t be completely packed with people.
Yesterday was a good day. I filled the creative well by seeing things out in the world and doing some sketching. And I walked over 17K steps so it was a mind AND body workout! :-D
When I came home, I made a story on Instagram of some of the places I went, take a look at that here if you want to see some random places in London and on the train.
Just a reminder: if you want to take part in the August Mandalas Stitchalong, on Monday the price goes up to £10 (currently £7). The photo shows my progress on the first mandala. I didn’t get any stitching done yesterday, but hopefully tonight will be sofa+film+stitching. :-)
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
xx Carina
Some Things I Enjoyed This Week
Earlier this week I had another little sketching adventure, using a sketchbook I had made from an old road map. That was fun! :-)
One day this week I made a very simple lunch: flat bread, cooked in a frying pan. I filled the bread around some vegan Greek yogurt and chopped tomatoes mixed with basil and a bit of olive oil. So tasty.
I picked up the book Stitch Stories* by Cas Holmes from the library and I had a quick look through it. I’m looking forward to reading it properly. It looks very inspiring. Have you read it?
