Oh, that's so interesting. I completely missed the news about the Danish monarchy - perhaps not surprising given the singular insularity of the British press. Good for her, whilst I think persistence is admirable one also needs to consider ones own needs - and how it impacts others.

I absolutely agree. And the more I think about it, the more I think that there should be a limit to how long you should be king/queen. It's not like in the olden days where the stability of the country depends on the monarch staying in power, so they might as well retire at a reasonable age and let younger people take over the job. This whole staying on the royal perch until they drop is just a bit silly... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
